Last Friday marked the opening night for our November Mike Kershnar show. Mike is an accomplished artist lending his talents to companies like Obey, Element and Toy Machine. Santa Cruz came out in full force, making this an epic event, many thanks to all of our loyal friends and supporters. We throw parties every first Friday when we drop our gallery for that month, don't forget to mark your calendar's to come check us out on Friday December 4th for our next show!

Chillin with Tajai

Tajai called me up the other night to let me know he was going to be in Santa Cruz and would like to swoop his painting by Stephen Lopez, of 'Montezuma's Revenge' their new album featuring Prince Paul on beats. What a cool cat! We chilled for a few hours in the store and talked about beezies, boomboxes, and beats. A truly great Krate experience! Thanks again Tajai for getting me hooked on Zapps..

Heavy Diggin' in the Bay

It was an early morning for Coaster and I, off to the races or better yet, off to Redwood City to hit the annual Record Man Dollar sale.. 10,000 or so dollar records, and a new room of never sorted five dollar records. I found some nice stuff for the store at the sale. Next stop, is the most record infested house I had ever seen! Had to be another 20,000 records everywhere in this dudes house, notice the garage pics. The house itself had records in every cabinet and drawer..Coaster plucked a Soul in the Horn!

One of the dopest additions to our last art show was definitely Souls new album cover titled, "Montezuma's Revenge". Stephen Lopez left this one here for Tajai to pick up in the next few days. Notice Prince Paul chillin' in the upper right corner, he did production on this one..Sick!

Kapitol Skateboards Krate Exclusive

Kapitol Skateboards just dropped a limited re-release of the San Quentin Baseball T-shirt, and on October 21st they will be available at our new online store. Kapitol is donating 15% of the proceeds to charity for children with cancer.

John at Kapitol working with Alison Harrington, from the San Quentin Baseball Team organization, designed the SQ Logo in 2004 and printed 300 shirts exclusively for the baseball team and their family members.

Kapitol also recently dropped the SQ Limited Skate Deck. The clean, full-painted black deck is hand numbered. Get the deck and shirt and be part of the Prison History, donating to the cause!
